Laura L.’s review:
So you know something creepy is at the center of this story just from reading the book jacket. It’s sort of like a car wreck that you don’t want to look at but you do. The Roanoke family lives in rural Kansas and almost all the girls in the family have either run away or died. Reading this is like peeling back layers of a family. It just gets worse and worse and you’re hoping there are not too many details when you finally get to the heart of the matter. It’s hard to describe but I was alternately fascinated and repulsed.
