Sara M’s review:
Mila Flores loses her best friend in an apparent suicide so she takes it upon herself to try powerful dark magic to bring the dead back to life in this snarky thriller. With all the witches, zombies and murder in this book, it would’ve made for a perfect Halloween read, but even reading it outside of the spooky season, this was a really great book to read. While the spooky themes are dominate throughout, this book is also a good story about the power of friendship as Mila and Riley have to navigate together all the consequences of playing with dark magic. Mila and her friends are all snarky, sarcastic and angsty but I still ended up really rooting for them by the end of the book.
