A Blade So Black Review

Sara M.’s review:

You’ve never seen Alice in Wonderland quite like this. A Blade So Black is an example of what would happen if the world of Lewis Carroll met Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Our Alice is now an African American teen from Atlanta who likes cosplay, hanging out with her best friends and fighting evil. Alice has been recruited by Wonderland to keep the human world safe from Nightmares, and it is a lot to juggle along with school, friends and her very worried mother. This story is full of magical realism and exciting adventures that are tied together with some exceptional, often very funny, characters. I was skeptical for another take on this literary classic, but this unique book really blew me away with this fresh adventure in a Wonderland I’ve never seen before.
