Earlier this month parents found themselves suddenly becoming homeschoolers, left to figure out how to continue their child’s education while schools decided on what to do for the remainder of the year.
Fortunately the KCKPL databases has the answer in Explora. Broken up by Elementary, Middle, and High School websites, students can look up a variety of subjects & facts, covering history to math to art and more. All three sites host countless articles on different topics, some with full color images, making research for a paper a breeze.
For those more inclined to learn through audio, other articles feature a speech function that will read the article to you and highlight each word as it’s spoken.
But the site isn’t just for students: click on the “for educators” tab at the top for parents to find lesson plans and tools to help build their curriculum.
Can’t find what you need? You can search other databases through the tab at the top of the page.
Explora is chock full of helpful information for the impromptu homeschool parent needing a place to start.
