Leonard Cohen’s famous song “So Long Marianne” and an intense relationship with the woman who inspired this song is the basis of this must-not-miss documentary for Cohen’s fans. It uses private family film footage, photographs, correspondence, and close friends’ recounting of the early days of this famous couple. The story turns sad when it depicts how their relationship was irreparably damaged by “living in the 60s”. From the movie, it is obvious that they kept each other in their minds and hearts for the rest of their lives. They died a few weeks apart and exchanged written notes prior to their passing.
