Review by Darla
A beautiful, Literary Graphic Novel, filled with frameable pen line drawings; some with color, most are black and white. It’s a book easily read in one sitting. The Boy and the Mole begin, the two of them discuss many things; the Boy has many questions about life and the Mole answers with simple, humorous wisdom. The two come upon a trapped Fox; they save him from a snare. He doesn’t speak much, but he later saves the Mole and permanently joins their little band. They talk of kindness and beauty and cake, all the necessities of life. They are joined by the Horse, and the rest of the journey is filled with thoughts and sayings of kindness and care. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a hug, especially in this period of our lives, when hugs are safer when found in book form.
