Review by Joshua W.
This British sitcom revolves around the titular bookstore, Black Books, which is owned and operated by Bernard Black. Bernard’s nihilistic outlook and antisocial attitude put him and his assistant, Manny, in situations ripe for absurdity and laughs. From the start, we see Bernard’s disregard for customers and friends alike as he acts like we all would like to when we are having a bad day (from making a customer wait while he finishes a call, to closing the shop by yelling through a bullhorn and sweeping customers out with a broom). This was a show that I could not stop watching as every episode just made me laugh more. No matter what mood I’m in, Black Books always cheers me up.
