Review by Sarah
Pardon Me! has quickly become a favorite picture book in our household. This book, which is written and illustrated by a local author, follows the story of a yellow bird who has found the perfect perch in a swamp until it starts to get more and more crowded. This is an easy but fun read with beautiful illustrations and short text.
My three-year-old doesn’t always pick up on humor in stories we read together, but he quickly got the surprise ending to this one. It’s always nice to read a story that makes both the parent and the child laugh. Don’t blame us, though, if you hear lots of “pardon me” being said after reading this one!
