Screenwriters We Recommend:  Larry McMurtry
Did anyone write a better western than Larry McMurtry?  It’s doubtful when you think about Lonesome Dove, Streets of Laredo and Comanche Moon.  But he was equally known for the tearjerker Terms of Endearment.  All beautifully adapted to the screen.  McMurtry passed away on March 25, 2021 but his brilliant stories live on.  Click on the movie cover to place a hold.

Actors We Recommend: Philip Seymour Hoffman
Few actors have embraced playing bad characters as well as Philip Seymour Hoffman.  He was the embodiment of the scoundrel, the bully, the misfit, the eccentric.  His early death at 46 in 2014 leaves a great hole in film and theatre.  Click on the movie cover to place a hold.

Veteran actor George Segal passed away March 23rd at the age of 87.  Acting since the 1960’s, George was most recently known for his role as the lovable ‘Pops’ on The Goldbergs.  He was nominated for an Academy Award and won two Golden Globes.  Click on the movie cover to place a  hold.
